ILCO Associate Litigation Course

This course introduces the student to the litigation proceedings in Ontario and the role of the law clerk in a litigation matter. Students will learn about the various court systems, the legislation applicable to each area and the related forms including, but not limited to, statements, affidavits, notices, and motions; from both the plaintiff and defendant perspectives. An ability to apply the Rules of Civil Procedure is a critical component of becoming an efficient litigation law clerk.  Students will also learn the legal research critical to litigation action and how to determine the appropriate uses of client information.

This course will be held via live Webinar sessions, starting September 5th, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM. The Litigation course runs for 25 weeks. Fees include the syllabus. Kindly refer to our website for the required textbooks. No e-versions of textbooks are allowed.

*Please note that there will be no Associate Litigation class on December 26th & January 2nd, 2025. 

**Please note there is no class on October 3rd. The make-up class is on Monday September 30, 2024. A recording for this class may be available.**
