Commercial Litigation Law Clerk

Lipman, Zener & Waxman is a mid-sized law firm, located in mid-Toronto with a substantial lending, recovery and real estate practice. We offer competitive salary and benefits along with a friendly and fun work environment. A position is available in our busy commercial litigation department.

Skills & Qualifications:

Preparation of documents connected to litigation process;
Preparation of accounts;
Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment;
Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate from a recognized institution;
Strong technical skills with proficiency in MS Office applications and comfortable with transcribing a moderate level of dictation;
Experience with Litigation Highway and PC Law a definite asset; and
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail.

Responsibilities:

Assist litigation partner with a busy and demanding litigation practice;
Prepare and complete all necessary litigation documentation such as motion records, pleadings, notices, affidavits, etc.;
Transcribe dictation with speed and accuracy;
Proficiency with PC Law and MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients
Ensure all filing is organized and up to date on a daily basis, both physical and electronic
Handle administrative details with respect to calendar management, client meetings, accounting, closing files and docketing
