Accounting Clerk
Kormans LLP is hiring!
The ideal candidate will possess accounting experience in a law firm, with excellent time management skills. This a full time permanent in-office position, 9-5pm.
Responsibilities:
Accounts Receivables
- Assisting the team with the day-to-day transactions, including posting receipts, e-transfers, direct deposits, wires, credit card payments, preparing cheques for signing;
- Reconcile general and trust bank account with PC Law ledgers and investigate discrepancies on a daily basis.
- Posting of Teraview dockets in PC Law and email discrepancies to clerks;
- Process Billing on PC Law;
- Prepare billing cheques for transfer;
- Receive cheques, drafts for posting in PC Law and depositing to bank, and scanning to appropriate folders and filing in the cabinet, informing the team of the receipt;
- Remote depositing to Bank;
Accounts Payable and Banking
- Posting vendor payable invoices;
- Preparing cheques for Accounts Payable;
- Printing envelopes for accounts payable cheques;
- Scanning of the accounts payable back up and filing in the cabinet;
- Reconcile and post Visa statements;
- Reconcile Title insurance invoices.
- Disbursement and expense recovery postings;
- Complete daily transactions at banking institutions that involves frequent trips every day to banks such as draft pick up, payouts, certifications;
- Prepare cheques for certification;
- Taking copies of cheques/certified cheques;
- Scanning deposit receipts and distributing by email;
- Taking a picture of payouts and emailing to clerks;
- Printing the payout statements to accompany the payout cheques, to pay at the bank.
- Reviewing the payout statements for specific instructions such as if a certified cheque is required, and how payments can be made, i.e. At bank, courier, wire etc.;
- Checking due date of payouts to organize your time to make the payouts on time;
Required Qualifications:
- Completion of a post-secondary program in Accounting;
- Strong numerical skills and the knowledge of basic accounting principles;
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to balance multiple priorities in a high-pressure environment;
- The ability to work with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail;
- A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle are required for daily banking;
- PC Law knowledge;
- Real Estate law firm an asset;
- Microsoft Office;
- Adobe;
Experience good to have:
- Teraview;
- Conveyancer;
- Unity;
- Knowledge and understanding of real estate transactions and basic accounting;
