Insurance Defence Litigation Law CLerk

Smockum Zarnett LLP, a boutique litigation firm located in downtown Toronto, is looking to hire.

We are currently recruiting for an Insurance Defence Litigation Law Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate should have minimum 5 years of experience in a law clerk position, with extensive experience in Tort matters.

We are looking for someone with a great attitude, strong work ethic along with the following qualifications and skills:

Law Clerk Designation
A strong understanding of the Rules of Civil Procedure
Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
Excellent computer skills including PC Law, Word, Outlook, Primafact, Sharefile
Detail oriented with excellent organizational and time management skills
Work well as a team player and independently

Responsibilities:

File management
Drafting pleadings, motions, pre-trial/mediation memos
Summarizing and briefing of medical documentation
Request and follow up of undertakings
Preparation for trial
