Job Description

The Junior Law Clerk is accountable to the General Counsel for a wide range of general administrative and clerical legal support matters. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to learn and build their legal career within a friendly, collaborative, and nurturing team environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare and complete various corporate and regulatory filings as required.
Maintain minute books and corporate records for Morguard’s public and private companies.
Assist with the coordination of board and committee meetings and the preparation of required materials, such as meeting minutes and corporate resolutions.
Provide general administrative support to the General Counsel and other members of the Legal Team.

Requirements

An inquisitive nature and a strong desire and willingness to learn.
Law Clerk Diploma/Certificate or equivalent.
Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint or Visio).
Knowledge of corporate entity data management systems is an asset.
Previous experience (including co-op) in a law firm or legal department is an asset.
