Skills & Qualifications

  • Preparation of documents connected to litigation process;
  • Preparation of accounts for monthly billings;
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team-oriented environment;
  • Law Clerk or Legal Assistant Diploma/Certificate from a recognized institution;
  • Strong technical skills with proficiency in MS Office applications;
  • Experience with legal accounting software (PC Law, Soluno, etc.) considered an asset;
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with attention to detail; and
  • Experience managing a lawyer(s) practice.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist two lawyers with a busy and demanding litigation practice;
  • Prepare and complete all necessary litigation documentation such as motion records, pleadings, notices, affidavits, etc.;
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint);
  • Communicate professionally with all internal and external clients;
  • Ensure all filing is organized and up to date daily, both physical and electronic;
  • Handle administrative details with respect to calendar management, client meetings, accounting, closing files and docketing; and
  • Other duties as assigned.
