Investment Law Clerk
The opportunity
We have an exciting role available with our Corporate Affairs team! As a Law Clerk, you will be focused on supporting the Investment Counsel Team within the Legal Department and Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board (“Ontario Teachers’”) staff. If you're someone who enjoys working independently but also engaging with multiple internal and external partners, this role is for you.
Who you'll work with
Joining the Corporate Affairs team, you will obtain ongoing advice and guidance from all Legal Group members, through working together to achieve the Legal Group’s objectives. The Legal Group operates in a collaborative manner and this will enhance future learning opportunities.
What you'll do
- Work with Investment Legal Counsel on transaction related matters as assigned
- Prepare documents for review by in-house counsel including:
- :subscription packages for new investments;
- redemption letters;
- know-your-client requests;
- regulatory information forms;
- global market opening documentation;
- delegations and certificates of incumbency;
- bank account opening documents;
- ew broker account documents; and
- officer and notarial certificates.
What you'll need
- Law clerk accreditation
- 5+ years of law clerk experience (with a track record of success of supporting lawyers and working in a team environment)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
- Experience with supporting transactions is considered an asset
- Excellent organizational, communication, information technology and legal administrative skills
- High quality deliverables with particular attention to detail
