We are currently seeking an experienced Corporate Law Clerk t to join our either our Toronto or Etobicoke office. As an important member of our team, the Corporate Law Clerk will play a key role in supporting our lawyers and ensuring the seamless operation of their practice. The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of two years of experience in a similar role, demonstrating proficiency in Corporate Law.

 

Responsibilities

  • Assist with articles of incorporation, amendments, amalgamations, dissolutions, continuance, arrangements, etc.
  • Prepare and draft correspondence and resolutions
  • Assist with corporate reorganizations, restructuring and mergers & acquisitions
  • Prepare document books
  • Work on multiple transactions and matters simultaneously

 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Skilled in interpreting instructions, preparing required documentation and correspondence and following files through to completion;
  • Able to meet deadlines and ensure appropriate response times;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for contact with clients and staff;
  • Excellent organization skills with exceptional attention to details;
  • Superior oral and written communication skills;
  • Able to work independently as well as actively as part of a team;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks;
  • Ability to manage multiple internal clients and be adaptable to the needs of each;
  • Able to maintain a high degree of professionalism and confidentiality in all matters.

 

Education & Experience

  • Law Clerk diploma preferably
  • Minimum of 2 year of corporate law experience required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Decisiveness and ability to carry out responsibilities with minimal direction/supervision
  • Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to manage practice of multiple lawyers
  • Strong Microsoft Office Skills (Excel / Word / Outlook)
