Our Toronto office is currently seeking an Intermediate eDiscovery & Litigation Case Manager to join our Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice, reporting to the Assistant Director of Paralegals and Law Clerks. The ideal candidate will be an organized and eager professional who possesses great client service skills and a strong work ethic. This role involves intensive eDiscovery work with some traditional law clerk responsibilities, managing litigation matters from inception to trial. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong technical skills and passion for electronic evidence, to join an incredible team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for
- Managing eDiscovery and litigation files from inception to trial.
- Coordinating document collection, preservation, review and production.
- Preparing legal documents, motion records, trial materials and hearing briefs.
- Assisting with discoveries, examinations, undertakings and refusals.
- Organizing evidence, transcripts, expert materials and case notebooks.
- Supporting mediation, arbitration, pre-trial and trial preparation.
- Communicating with clients, legal teams and external service providers.
- Managing electronic evidence platforms and related project workflows.
The successful candidate must have demonstrated experience in the following
- A minimum of 7+ years experience working as an eDiscovery law clerk in a law firm.
- Law Clerk certification from an accredited institute or commensurate experience.
- Experience with eDiscovery databases such as Reveal, iPro Eclipse and Case Centre.
- Experience with large document management matters in an electronic format.
- Knowledge of eDiscovery best practices, procedures, and technology.
- Computer literacy with strong working knowledge of legal and standard office software.
- Ability to work independently and assume ownership of the file.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and responsiveness.
- Outstanding time management, prioritization and organizational skills.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work proactively with lawyers to manage deadlines.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to manage clients and work with all levels of lawyers and legal professionals.
- Maturity, consistency of approach and ability to relate to all levels of lawyers and legal professionals.
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Salary Range: $130,000 - $145,000
